Artondale washers are well-water washers. Iron and manganese from private wells stain drums and crust inlet screens years before municipal machines show wear, and a fair number of the area’s houses run water softeners that change the detergent math entirely. Softened water deserves its own line: houses on a softener see suds where none should be, because the same dose that behaved on hard well water foams wildly once the softener is in. Suds trip pressure sensors and drain logic, and the code on the display looks like a pump failure. Half of Artondale’s ‘drain fault’ calls on softened supplies end with a dosing card and no part — and the visit is happy to be that cheap.
